Christmas in May. That’s how it feels when the new seedling patch begins a blooming!!! To the “Hybridizers’” I purchase from….”thank you”, for it is truly you, who have giving me some amazing seedlings this year.

Family sickness has given way to praising GOD!!! My brother, a retired minister, had his heart and kidney transplant November 12 & 13. He is doing well. Thank you to all that called. This brings me to H. Tin Man (picture at right)…….a new introduction for spring 2008.

As I have shared with many of you, my brother was placed on an “artificial” heart before his transplant. The “artifical: heart is a metal machine that is placed inside the body. It beats to pump the blood until a donor heart can be found. The “artifical” heart is removed just before the donor heart is placed inside.

So….while playing the waiting game at the Mayo Clinic, The Wizard of Oz, was being shown on TBS over and over. As the hours ticked away, Melissa, a dear Godly friend was entertaining us by pretending to be the Lion and then one of the Lollypop Kids, anything to keep our spirits up. No long after her performance, the “Tin Man” received his heart from the Wizard. I even took pictures of the TV screen. A short time later, the surgeon arrived to give us the news my “Bubba” had his heart. Thus the name……..… H. Tin Man.

H. Tin Man is a beautiful flower, just like my brother….David Mitchell Thompson. He has been to the garden many times this season and has truly fallen in love with daylilies. My love and admiration to you “Bubba”……..Love your Sissy
