Salt Lake City is among the top 50 US cities with a rodent problem. Whilst it’s not topping the list, the city still needs to pay attention to the rodents that are sharing their home.
Greenside Pest Control notes that any resident of Utah should be mindful of these possible results of rodent infestation:
In Arkansas, a 15-day-old newborn has been found with about 100 rodent bites, and her teenage parents have been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
Though the blame, in this case, is put on neglectful parents who didn’t call for rodent control to avoid such untoward incident, there’s no denying that the rodents caused the damage. According to a doctor who attended to the baby girl’s case, it would have taken hours for the rat to cause such damage. Imagine subjecting your child to such pain and suffering at an early age.
Damage to Property
Now that the weather is starting to get warmer, humans and rodents alike seek surroundings that are more comfortable. This means the pests have a higher chance of sneaking into your home, where they can hide in the littlest holes. Once they start chewing on items in the house, it’s hard to stop them. Rodents can cause a lot of damage to your home in a short time, and they can contaminate improperly sealed food containers.
The mere presence of rodents in your home should be enough cause for concern. After all, they can transmit diseases through their urine. When they urinate in areas with standing water and you happen to get in contact with that water with an open would, you may get an infection.
Every household should take the problem with rodents seriously. It’s time to stop the spread of rats and diseases. Work with a reputable pest control company to ensure the best results.
